About the opportunity
This is an exciting new role within the Alcoa Mining Health & Safety group. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this leadership role will be accountable for the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Alcoa Health and Safety Management system at our Huntly Bauxite Mine.
The position is critical in ensuring that Alcoa’s value of a safer workplace, free of injury, can be achieved with a systematic planned approach to incident prevention, loss and damage control, and employee and contractor welfare. You will also be responsible for the directing and coordination of a team of Health & Safety Consultants and Emergency Response Officer’s (ERO’s).
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Relevant safety qualifications, ideally bachelor’s degree or post-graduate but we will also consider an advanced diploma. Training qualifications are desirable.
Considerable experience in a H&S professional role in a mining or industrial environment.
Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
