Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged
care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and

We currently have a vacancy at Bethanie Como Aged Care Home for
a Hospitality Worker to fill a variety of shifts
on a part-time basis in the roles of Domestic
Assistant/ Cleaner, Laundry Assistant, Food Services Assistant/
Wait Staff and Kitchen Hand.
Bethanie Como is a 111-bed luxury suite home that provides the
full range of aged care services including dementia support,
palliative care and respite services.
Ideally, candidates will be available to work across both
morning and afternoon shifts as well as some weekends.
The role will comprise of five (5) shifts per
week , including:
Every Thursday & Friday (AM) - Domestic Assistant/
Cleaner role
Three (3) rotating Shifts (AM / PM & weekends) - across
all roles.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicants must be willing to work across the
following departments listed below:
Kitchen Hand -
Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation,
kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
Assisting is preparation, apportioning and serving of
meals
Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and
general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and
cutlery
Food Services Assistant
Ensuring delivery, set up, service, washing and clean down
are completed
Ensuring care recipients meal and hydration needs are
met
Assisting in preparation and portioning of care recipients
meals
Ensuring facility areas are clean and safe
Domestic Assistant
Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors
and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
Ensuring supplies are stocked within the facility
Liaise with other Bethanie employees to ensure the needs of
clients are met
Ensuring client's personal clothing is individually
labelled, and put away in their rooms, identifying items that
require mending
Laundry Assistant
Ensure all personal laundry and linen is laundered
correctly and ensure infection control practices are adhered
to
Sort and wash linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of
soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre
Load and unload washing machine and tumble dryers
Sort and fold clean and dry linen for dispatch to
sites
Report damage or wear and recommend repairs or
replacement
Place clean linen into trolleys for delivery
Requirements:
Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as a
Cleaner, Laundry Assistant, Kitchen Hand or Food Services
Assistant ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar
environment
Have a “can do” attitude and a genuine
compassion for our residents
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and as part of a
team
Ability to communicate both orally and written
Willingness to uphold the vision, mission and values of The
Bethanie Group
A current police clearance or willingness to get one
