Jackson McDonald is one of Western Australia’s largest independent commercial law firms with over 130 staff including 26 Partners. Over the past nearly 100 years, we have advised thousands of individuals, businesses and industries, which in turn has helped to shape our city and the entire state of WA.


We are seeking an experienced and driven Word Processing Operator to join our firm on a casual basis.


About the role

Working within the Legal Operations function, the Word Processing Operator plays an important role as a member of our dedicated Word Processing team assisting our professional staff to continue to provide an excellent client service.

Playing a key part in maintaining the smooth running of the Firm, you will undertake duties including, but not limited to:

  • Transcribing digital dictations;
  • Creating, editing and formatting Word documents using firm styles and templates;
  • Comparing documents;
  • Formatting contracts, deeds and leases;
  • Working with Excel documents – printing, formatting etc.; and
  • Creating and editing Power Point presentations.

About you


The key determinants of success in this role are:


  • Experience working in a Word Processing role in a professional services environment;
  • A minimum of typing speed of 80 wpm;
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within available timeframes;
  • A strong communicator, both in writing and spoken communications;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Possess a sound knowledge of legal documentation;
  • Advanced Word skills;
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and document management systems.


Previous experience with a large commercial law firm is desirable.
