About the role

We are growing our Professional Services team, and as a Presales Engineer, you will bring your technical expertise across Cloud (Public & Private), Systems and Network to deliver robust solutions for our customers.

This role is customer facing and you will work on high level design, detailed solution design, build and implementation, working on the latest technologies. You will be expected to work across multiple projects and your ability to think fast, learn and adapt will see you succeed in this cutting edge role.

You will:

  • Drive the technical qualification, scoping, estimation, design and delivery of new or existing opportunities and projects.
  • Work closely with the sales and delivery teams to ensure that solutions meet the business requirements, are well architected, cost effective and deliverable
  • Design solutions that provide value, are relevant and sustainable.
  • Work with new and existing customers providing quotations for new and additional business.
  • Build and leverage existing solution offerings and delivery methodologies with a focus on repeatability (tender responses, technical designs, cost calculators, transition & onboarding guides, provisioning templates and procedures).
  • Provide technical expertise, working across a multitude of infrastructure, security, systems and application products to plan, install, configure and support customer environments.
  • Engage with customers and become a trusted advisor

Skills & experience

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, solution-oriented, collaborative and approachable with a focus on best practice:

  • Experience in a customer facing consulting or consultative pre-sales role with strong technical presence and confidence.
  • Experience working in hybrid cloud environments and PaaS/IaaS
  • Subject Matter expert in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, with a focus on both migration and transformation initiatives.
  • Previous experience working as an Engineer designing and delivering complex solutions for small to medium clients
  • Previous experience working for a Systems Integrator across multiple clients highly regarded
  • Skilled at diagrammatically representing processes, workflows, and ideas and present them to customers.
  • Proven ability to innovate, adapt and work under pressure in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and firm deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills across:
    • Windows
    • Linux
    • Azure
    • AWS
    • Scripting (Powershell, Bash, Python)
  • Desirable skills:
    • VMWare
    • Networking
    • IaC 
    • DevOps - CI/CD, automation
    • Databases
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with proven document/report writing ability
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science and relevant Industry certifications such as AWS SA, Azure Architect/Engineer, MCSE, VCP, CCNP, Agile, DevOps
