We are seeking to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer in Nursing (Chronic Care). In this position you will be expected to contribute to Sydney Nursing School through engagement in high quality research and education within the broad area of the holistic management of chronic conditions. This Lecturer position will involve 40% teaching, 40% research and 20% governance, leadership and engagement allocations. The key accountabilities and responsibilities of this role will include: * undertaking independent teaching in relation to the holistic management of chronic conditions including social determinants of health, health promotion and prevention, health literacy, and health services management * engaging in high-quality teaching and learning experiences (at undergraduate, postgraduate, and Honours levels) which meet the Universitys expectations and standards * contributing to unit of study coordination and delivery of quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements * coordinating award programs within the School/ Faculty and leading team-teaching activities with other staff * contributing to the design and delivery of multidisciplinary work-integrated learning units and content * systematically collecting and using feedback on student learning to adjust educational approaches to improve student outcomes * demonstrating research performance in line with School criteria for Level C relevant to the promotion of health, the integration of care and health service management for chronic conditions * developing a national reputation for research in an area related to the School and University research priorities * supervising Honours and Higher Degree Research students * contributing to the broader life of the School and University through relevant opportunities. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Senior Lecturer in Nursing (Chronic Care) who demonstrates: * a PhD in academic field relevant to nursing or a related area essential. Masters degree in a relevant field desirable. * registration as a nurse with AHPRA * expertise in the holistic management of chronic conditions, including experience in social determinants of health, health promotion and prevention, health literacy, and health services management. * a strong track record of active research, including publications in refereed journals and research funding relevant to the promotion of health, the integration of care and health service management for chronic conditions * the ability to successfully supervise honours and HDR students. * a proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly activities to inform innovative teaching practice * success in engaging in research collaborations and building a national research profile * outstanding track record in education, including course design, evaluation and management, a demonstrated ability to contribute to teaching and evidence of innovation in teaching and learning and clinical teaching in simulation settings. * an established network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders * leadership in teaching and research, and active in professional nursing groups * significant experience in supervising and mentoring others and coordinating team activities * a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector.
