The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist - Case Manager (Older Persons Community Mental Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience
  • Deliver clinical services within an integrated mental health service environment with a multidisciplinary team focus, incorporating clinical assessment, management/treatment planning, interventions, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs and support services
  • Deliver care at external venues, consumers home address and at staff based clinic
  • Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician
About you

To be successful in this position you will require:
  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Driver's licence

Older Persons Community Mental Health (OPMHC) provide efficient and responsive mental health care, and coordination of evidence-based consumer care in accordance with organisational goals, within the Mental Health older persons community. It is the aim of this service to offer a recovery-oriented approach that is person-centered, strengths based, collaborative and empowering. There is an emphasis on consumer choice, building resilience and enhancing opportunities for social inclusion.

OPMHC operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, across a variety of settings within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service and is based at Robina.
