JOB DESCRIPTION

Registered Nurse

Our client is a leading global medical equipment company developing products, programs and services to improve resuscitation, patient care, patient safety and global health. They have an outstanding reputation in the marketplace based on a philosophy of innovation, ethical business practices and outstanding customer experience.

Due to increasing need for patient support during COVID, an opportunity has become available to join their team based in Victoria. 

The remuneration package is negotiable and includes base salary, fully maintained vehicle, 9.5% superannuation and generous bonus scheme. Other incentives include health and well-being benefits and personal development support.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the work of health professionals and care workers
  • Promoting health and assisting in preventing ill health by participating in health education and other health promotion activities for patients and their caregivers
  • Answering questions and providing information to patients and families about treatment and care in relation to suction and airway equipment
  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients requiring suction in a residential environment under the NDIS program
  • Coordinating the care and education of patients requiring the use of suction and airway equipment in a residential environment
  • Providing interventions and treatments and monitoring responses to treatment and care planning regarding use of suction and airway equipment
  • Facilitating training programs linking the complete offering of Patient Simulators, Scenarios, Technical and Educational Services.
  • Manage and analyse large data sets to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Key Competencies

  • A high degree of clinical proficiency
  • Nursing Informatics expertise
  • Understanding of educational theory and adult learning principles Able to converse in relevant healthcare language
  • Advanced IT or operational skills
  • Willingness to learn technical trouble shooting of medical training equipment, including manikins.

Priorities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Programs.
  • Delivery of Quality improvement and patient safety programs to customers within timelines using data to measure positive outcomes for patients.
  • Patient satisfaction demonstrated post encounters.
  • Develop technical expertise in equipment management and maintenance requirements.

Necessary:

  • A Healthcare qualification in Registered Nursing or similar
  • Clinical Background in Nursing, In-Hospital and Community nursing.
  • Educational background in training and facilitation in clinical simulation centres / pre- hospital organizations / Nursing / Allied Health schools or similar.
  • Experience working in residential/community environment
  • Experience implementing Continuous Quality Improvement programs and project management skills.

Desirable:

  • Equipment basic trouble shooting and maintenance 
  • Experience delivering education in a tertiary environment
  • Nursing informatics experience.
