JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager – Automotive Projects & Functional Safety is an integral role in the Engineering department, supporting the successful implentation of Seeing Machines DMS technology for Tier 1 and OEM customers in Germany – achieving a high safety standard for functional safety in compliance with Automotive industry standards. You will collaborate with product development teams, process owners and software engineering experts to develop and implement relevant functional safety standards for our current and future driver monitoring products - through expert feedback of requirements gathering and input into our core continuous improvement strategy involving:

  • Analysing impact of ISO26262 releases for Seeing Machines and leading a culture of Functional Safety across the Engineering department
  • Developing safety architectures and safety plans to ensure compliance with ISO26262
  • Leading and coordinating the creation of functional safety documentation according to ISO 26262
  • Cascading safety requirements to the systems, subsystems, and component levels in our product portfolio
  • Specifying detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic and software requirements
  • Collaborating with project managers, software development teams and Automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers on all aspects of Functional Safety
  • Conducting reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles
  • Planning, scheduling and tracking project deliverables, milestones and timelines and establish clear ownership for project tasks
  • Developing project budgets through sound business cases
  • Proactively managing budgets throughout the project lifecycle, including management of project resources
  • Managing pressures on and changes to project scope and schedule using appropriate verification techniques
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure all requirements are clearly understood
  • Monitoring and track progress of project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing comprehensive reporting and escalations to executive and other key stakeholders, as required.

About You

We value the breadth and depth of experience that our people bring to their work. We are seeking people with a good mix of technical competency and personal capability. You will bring functional safety expertise along with outstanding product development and project management skills. Knowledge of computer vision/machine learning and/or existing experience or relationships with Global Tier 1 or Automotive OEM companies will be an advantage.

Specifically, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience in Automotive electronics systems and development – including software, hardware and system architecture
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Highly proficient or fluent in English and German languages (spoken and written)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent technical, written, and verbal interpersonal communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate complex ideas/requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
    At least 5 years of experience in:

i)product Development Life Cycle (System/Hardware/Software) in the automotive domain including knowledge of static dynamic verification and test methods

ii)analysis/methods FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, DFA and their application
