About the branch and role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated lawyer to join our Royal Commissions & Inquiries (RCI) Branch as a Senior Solicitor.

The RCI Branch provides specialist legal services and advice to the State in relation to Royal Commissions and Inquiries. The day to day tasks for this role and the type of legal services undertaken by the branch include:

  • Establishment of Royal Commissions (exclusive service)
  • Management of notices to produce including document review
  • Witness preparation
  • Hearing preparation
  • Briefing and instructing counsel
  • State submissions
  • Strategic responses
  • Project management and reporting
  • Royal Commissions and inquiries general advisory

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience working on large scale litigation matters or Royal Commission/Inquiries
  • Previous experience with document management/discovery related tasks
  • Demonstrated experience providing oral and written advice on complex and sensitive matters
  • Proven ability to perform complex legal research and analysis
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a team and build positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Superior time management skills and the ability to multi-task
