Be responsible for the coordination of all cabinet, ministerial and parliamentary business for Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV).

About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

We now have a maternity leave cover vacancy for a Ministerial and Parliamentary Business Coordinator to join our team on a 9 month fixed term basis. Reporting to the Senior Ministerial and Parliamentary Officer, this role will be responsible for the coordination of all cabinet, ministerial and parliamentary business for Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV). You will frequently liaise with project teams, internal and external stakeholders within the public sector and will require a high level of administrative experience. 

Please note that this is a 9 month Fixed term role.

Key Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Department of Transport (DoT) and other transport agencies, ensure optimal support for MRPV in relation to cabinet, legislative and parliamentary questions, briefings and correspondence.
  • Ensure administrative and communication requirements and protocols are maintained between MRPV, DOT, the Ministers office and key authorities including the management of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Coordinate and develop briefings, correspondence, parliamentary and Cabinet documentation across MRPV.
  • Review and submit for approval briefings, correspondence, parliamentary and cabinet documentation and ensure that feedback and follow up actions are addressed while ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with staff in other departments, ministerial office and individuals at senior levels in the distribution of project information and communicating any requests or requirements.

About you

  • Experience in coordinating and managing information in a secure and confidential manner is essential.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, use sound judgement and set priorities to achieve business objectives and tight timeframes whilst working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing at a high standard.
  • Ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships across the organisation as well as with our key stakeholders, including departmental and ministerial is essential.
  • High degree of competency and aptitude in using IT systems and applications including internal record management databases, Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

An understanding of Government processes, MRPV's structure, administrative mechanisms, business activities and familiarity with the Transport Infrastructure portfolio responsibilities of the Minister would be highly regarded.
