JOB DESCRIPTION

We require up to 60 staff for work in meat processing in Bordertown, South Australia.

Meat Processing Labourers - brief job description:

  • Production line meat labouring
  • Meat packing and labelling
  • Boning
  • Cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment

The works is physically demanding, so applicants must be fit and strong.

Positions will commence in July 2021 and are ongoing permanent full time positions at 38 hours per week. Successful applicants will be employed as level 3 under the Meat Industry Award.

To be considered for the position, applicants must undergo and pass a physical examination that includes:

  • Drug test
  • Colour blind test
  • Pass medical examination at Bordertown
  • Prepared to submit to Q Fever test and follow up exactly 7 days later at Bordertown Medical Centre
  • Skin test is to verify no adverse reactions on skin

* Random drug tests will be conducted during the period of employment *

Selection Criteria

* Must be strong and physically fit, able to lift up to 20kg

* Must not be colour blind 

* Must be able to follow safe food handling, packaging and processing standards of hygiene.

* A good level of dexterity with an ability to acquire good speeds safely with knives.

* Ability to carry heavy loads , work up to 9.5 hours shifts , weekend work as required .

* Ability to follow instructions and learn and apply new processes quickly.

To be successful applicants must

- have work rights in Australia 

- have their own means of transportation to work

- demonstrate a commitment to moving and living in the area for the period of employment if from outside the Bordertown area must .
