Our client, a large environment regulator, is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to assist in the development of communication and engagement strategies focussed on waste crime prevention. Reporting to the Director, you will play an important role as your contributions are aimed at influencing wide-scale behaviour change across the community, industry and government. This is a permanent full-time opportunity paying between $101k-$111k per annum + super and it is based in Carlton. This is a rare opportunity for you to contribute to a greater cause as you will champion a zero tolerance message to the public regarding waste crime.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level communication support and advice to key stakeholders including senior executives on short and long-term strategies
- Lead the delivery of communication materials and engagement activities with key stakeholders
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies for specific projects and activities.
- Manage the monitoring and evaluation of communications and engagement activities
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure early awareness of any risk issues as well as milestones that could present pro-active communication opportunities.
- Research and prepare communication materials to ensure they are fit for purpose and engaging for the target audience, coordinating external communications via existing corporate media.
- Formal qualifications in communications, business, or equivalent relevant industry experience
- A strong track record of developing and delivering successful communications and engagement programs that have led to behaviour change, preferably in a regulatory/law enforcement setting
- Proven experience in representing organisations in a range of forums and at a range of levels.
- Excellent professional presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong career experience in managing challenging and diverse organisational relationships, proven people management capability.
- Ability to be present at times and locations to provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver's licence.
