Job Description

Our engineering business has recently been strengthened through the acquisitions of Lendlease Engineering and the Geotech Group, positioning ACCIONA as a leading provider of engineering services within the infrastructure sector. We provide services to public and private clients with a focus on Roads, Bridges and Tunnels, Rail and Civil Infrastructure projects.

ACCIONA is now looking for a Tunnel Interface Manager based in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Tunnelling, this role requires large experience in managing teams for both construction and design of different projects/tenders.

As Tunnel Interface Manager you will control and coordinate construction/design activities to ensure that assigned projects(s) are completed to the client’s satisfaction and to meet the company’s and industry requirements. The Tunnel Interface Manager supports the Business Development team in the preparation of the best possible proposal from a construction point of view.

Your keys objectives are, but not limited to:

  • Ensure the effective coordination and control of Tunnel construction projects/tenders
  • Lead the different teams to develop construction proposals
  • Collaborate with the Tunnels Specialized Business Unit in Spain when necessary, through the understanding of the local needs
  • Have responsibility for scope, budget, schedule and technical quality
  • Supervise, coordinate and review the work of other tunnel engineers
  • Manage and supervise the practical application of the HSE policies
  • Monitor progress against programme & cost against budget

Required Skills and Competencies

To be the suitable candidate you will posse a qualification in Civil Engineer (or related) and working knowledge of contracts and legal requirements with a strong awareness of the practical application of HSE. To be considered for this role you can demonstrate several years of experience in delivery of rail, tunneling, infrastructure and large scale civil projects within the construction industry. Ideally you have strong joint venture reporting experience within a large commercial reporting environment.

This role plays a vital link between Australia and our Headquarters in Madrid Spain, and as such the ability to liaise, travel and converse fluently in both Spanish and English is nonnegotiable.
