About the role

Our BHP’s Mt Whaleback Mine Site's Infrastructure Services team is now seeking an individual looking at advancing their skill set by joining our team as a Civil Supervisor.

The Civil team maintain roads, drains, carparks, gardens and Industrial Services across the operation. This role would suit someone looking to widen their skills, knowledge and network as a leader at BHP, enabling them to take the next step in their development.

This residential opportunity based in Newman WA will be working a Lifestyle Roster 5d4x5d5x4d5x days only basis and will report through to the on-site Superintendent Services. The Civil Supervisor will be accountable for:

  • Provide supervision and leadership of the Civil Services team, to safely and cost effectively execute the requirements of the MN62 plan.
  • Managing of approved service contractors.
  • A customer focussed approach to maintenance
  • Champion the principles of Operator Driven Reliability in the way the site infrastructure is maintained.
  • Provide leadership assistance to other infrastructure and Services team as required.
  • Influencing skills in order to develop key relationships and drive outcomes.
About You

To be considered, you will have demonstrated Leadership experience, coaching and supporting a high performing team along with relevant experience within a maintenance environment.

You will have the ability to set challenging goals and standards of performance to ensure your team are performing tasks safely while under pressure to meet timeframes, budget and output commitments, together with:
  • Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable.
  • Hold prior experience in a people leadership role is a requirement.
  • Truly inspire people to engage and be part of a high performing team
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively
  • Sound knowledge of the Contractor Management Framework
  • Contractor management experience
  • Sound knowledge of Risk Management systems and processes
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with SAP/1SAP is highly regarded.
