About the role:

The Supply Chain Principal is a key leadership role in Aurizon Bulk. Based in Welshpool (Perth) and reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Development, this role will deliver strategic outcomes that build the Aurizon Bulk capability across a diverse network of operations, spanning rail, road and port logistics. 

You will be accountable for delivering growth through development and enhancement of customer supply chains, delivering compelling proposals and innovative solutions. You will harness your strong market knowledge to optimise services and extend the reach of service provision to provide enduring value to the customer.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop solutions and innovative ideas to grow markets and create markets that align with the business strategy.
  • Generate early involvement in supply chain design with potential customers and convert to plan, discover, design approach.
  • Support the Head of Supply Chain Development to develop strategies, approaches and ideas to retain and grow the value of existing customers.
  • Within the growth framework and working with key Business Development staff, identify and approach new customers and generate proposals.
  • Support cross functional teams to solve customer pain points.
  • Work with the M&A team on identifying, valuing and conducting due diligence on growth opportunities and concepts.
  • Partnering and benefit sharing with adjacent suppliers and technology providers.

About you:

An energetic and passionate commercial or operational leader, you will be driven to deliver customer outcomes that create value, building a bigger, more capable business in the process. You will be an experienced professional who possesses:

  • Sophisticated business acumen with demonstrated strategic thinking capability.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to communicate cross functionally.
  • Supply chain design skills in a multi-modal environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise business outcomes.
  • Ability to negotiate commercial outcomes using a range of strategic selling techniques.
  • Substantial knowledge of heavy industry, with deep understanding of material handling approaches being highly valued.
