JOB DESCRIPTION

Fixed Term - Full Time -

This position will play a key role in contributing to the enhancement of the Department's infrastructure portfolio. The position provides a breadth of exposure across school infrastructure policy and project delivery, it includes considerable exposure to key parliamentary and government processes.

This position will manage the Minor Work Unit delivering the Minor Capital Works Fund and Inclusive School portfolio of Projects. This position will oversee a number of teams delivering works and to manage the delivery of programs, assist with business planning and continuous improvement measures.

The environment is fast-paced and key deliverables of the role include:

  • Successful service delivery of three programs
  • Regular reporting on budget and performance
  • Managing teams of Project Officers delivering the works
  • Building positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate and communicate the successful delivery of operational programs
  • Communicating complex issues, options and solutions
  • Providing advice to schools about operational programs and alternative support
  • Leading the development of program policy and guidelines
  • Undertake business analysis and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Establish processes to monitor and analyse program‐wide project data
  • Provide branch input to corporate asset management improvement and assurance measures implementation

A specialist knowledge of program delivery in the government environment and an understanding of how to appropriately engage with stakeholders is expected.
