About the Role

This role will see you provide general pre-publication advice to ABC content teams, as well as coordinate editorial guidance reviews and updates. In collaboration with others, you will also research and draft guidance on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander place/nation/language terms.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will also:

  • Coordinate the schedule for reviewing and updating general editorial guidance
  • Manage and respond to relevant language complaints as required
  • In collaboration with others, develop online training on First Nations languages and ABC RAP commitments
  • Develop a general understanding of the spirit and intent of relevant ABC policies, including Editorial Policies
  • Understand and apply the law as it relates to publishing content
About You

You possess advanced research, writing and editing skills, with solid experience as a researcher in a broadcasting or media environment and have a keen interest in language, editorial and media issues.

You're a strong communicator, with exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong strategic working relationships. You're highly organised and able to manage a busy work load, with the ability to work to set deadlines.
