Eden Ritchie Recruitment is looking for an experienced Project Officer for a short-term contract with possible extension.

The Principal Project Officer (Strategic Workforce Plan Implementation Project) will support the Director (Strategic Workforce Plan Implementation Project) to review existing capabilities, undertake a gap analysis and develop a blueprint of work to address the intent of the Workforce Strategic Plan. Work will include review of existing, legislation, frameworks and procedures relevant to leadership capabilities, role specific capability development, positive performance development and employee safety, health and wellbeing.

The position is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Strategic Workforce Plan, including the development, roll out and uptake across all jurisdictions.

This is an exciting opportunity for the Principal Project Officer to work collaboratively as part of a project team that will drive cultural change through leading the implementation of the Queensland Government’s future focussed leadership framework and to build organisational capability to support high performance across the department.

The role:

  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality services and the development of a culture that values diversity and inclusion, that is culturally safe, that values high performance, good governance and provides a high standard of client service
  • Supporting the development of a high performing team in the delivery of best practice strategies, services, and projects
  • Delivering high level strategies, including change management, workforce planning, creating and developing a broad range of initiatives covering capability development, leadership and performance management and workforce wellness,
  • Providing high level, strategic advice to the Board and leadership team to enable the development and implementation of a high-performance culture and enabling change to support the delivery of the workforce strategic plan strategies.
  • Supporting the provision of professional, informed and timely strategic advice to the Board and other senior managers on issues of a complex and sensitive nature pertaining to human resources and change management strategies.
  • Ensuring relevant, practical and legislatively compliant organisation-wide people-related frameworks, policies and practices (including leadership capabilities, positive performance management, and learning and development) are in place.
  • Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty.


  • Experience in project planning and supporting complex cultural/behavioural change initiatives.
  • Experience in planning, developing, and rolling out complex projects within short timeframes and within budget.
  • Experience in achieving high standards of contemporary human resource outcomes in professional environments.
