AT SJM Search and Selection we specialise in Financial Services Search and Recruitment as well as Relocations. We have been our clients preferred national search firm and strategic recruiter for over 5 years. We will use or network, referrals, and advertise to find and experienced Retail Stockbroker to service an established book as the senior Stockbroker exits the business at the end of the year.

The location - modern offices located close to the CBD overlooking local surf beaches with plenty of parking. The staff in the office are from the area, moved form Brisbane, as well as relocating from interstate with their young families. The team live locally between Buderim, Peregian, Noosa Heads, and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It’s an easy drive in without traffic congestion, and plenty of parking.

With the spike in both interstate and local relocations to QLD, young professionals, medicos, nursing staff, doctors, teachers, university staff, self employed, public services staff, and pre-retirees, the region generally and in particular Maroochydore CBD town plan has been undergoing massive transformation and redevelopment to meet the growth.

Thet provide a full-service platform includes wealth management advisory platform to retail and HNW clients and acknowledged as being pre-eminent in the distribution of Australian equities, with billions of FUM. Their head office team of specialists, work with leading investment banking and corporate finance partners to jointly manage due diligence on more upcoming IPO and Mid cap offerings than anyone in the market. This ensures a steady flow of quality allocations to distribute to their advisers and offer their clients. The Stockbrokers and Private Client Advisers are supported by a strong team of both in-house and partnerships with the local and global leading institutions.

The role or opportunity is to take over and service an existing transaction book of clients consistently generating over $200k in revenue. You will replace the current senior stockbroker leaving the practice and industry at the end of this year. We are looking for an experienced transaction stockbroker to work closely over the next 6 months in managing the successful handing over and servicing of an existing well managed book of clients. With the successful appointment of a strong relationship builder, and professional and ethical driven strategic sales business developer and networker, there is a huge opportunity to grow this book.

Holding a current (AR), if not we are open to discuss twelve months mentoring meeting ASIC. You will have a strong academic background, meet industry required qualifications, hold a finance or relevant bachelors degree, post grad, or masters and must have completed the adviser ethics exams. You will have a long term career plan and committed to on-going educational training meeting adviser (AR) industry requirements. Ideally three to four years experience in retail, wholesale or institutional client advising.

While not essential, some relationships with retail clients, your business and referral network in QLD or your current location would be seen as a distinct advantage. Whatever your background you must be able to demonstrate a track record of excellence in terms of client relationship management, retention, strong solutions based strategic business development sales acumen. You will be expected to be self driven and managed, treating the business and team as though you are a shareholder. Provide ethical and professional advise to your clients and project the presence and communication skills one would expect from an investment professional as you represent the business.
