About the roleThe Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the College strategic marketing and communication plans. The role also coordinates the operation and effectiveness of the College marketing, promotion and communications functions, including liaison and consultation with stakeholders and sponsors.

Other outcomes include responsibility for the researching, writing and editing of copy for a diverse range of media publications and reports, as well as providing support for corporate events, on or off campus promotions and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops the College marketing plan in accordance with strategic direction. Reviews, monitors and updates as required.
  • Identifies opportunities; develops and implements communications, and marketing and events strategies to promote the College and increase community awareness.
  • Coordinates the development of publications using existing WA Government processes developed for both prospective students and new business opportunities. Collateral will include banners, brochures, marketing stands, vehicle branding, and student diaries. Liaison with publishers, printers and designers will be required.
  • Manages and maintains the College Products and Services Catalogue.
  • Develops tools and processes to manage the standard of advertising and promotional activities and events, including cost effectiveness, impact and community/industry feedback, local and state newspapers.
  • Monitors student feedback with respect to the effectiveness of the College marketing activities. Provides information and advice to Directors to assist in budget preparation, planning, implementation and evaluation of marketing strategies and plans.
  • Provides support with promotional activities on and off campus, including award ceremonies, nominations for VET or other awards e.g. Annual Training Awards, Premier's Awards, WA Education Awards, etc

To be successful in this position, you will have the following:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including; substantial knowledge and experience in preparing and editing copy, media statements, advertisements, promotional materials and speeches.
  • Demonstrated application of digital media (including website analytics tools, e-newsletters and social media) for use in promotion and strategic marketing including a high level of computing skills including Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Substantial experience and expertise in marketing, public relations, advertising, design and production principles and procedures.
  • A proven ability to work in a manner that is self-directed to achieve desired outcomes within required timeframes and budget.
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment to develop and maintain relationships to achieve organisational goals.
