About the Team

Our Urban Projects Team is a small team focused on the growth and economic development of City of Charles Sturt area. They lead, champion and deliver Council’s Economic Development strategy. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Economic Development professional to join our team as we continue to shape the Western Suburbs!


About the Job

This position is responsible for providing expertise and strategic leadership, to deliver a range of agreed strategies and actions aligned to Council, Community, Organisational and Economic plans. You will also establish new Government and industry alliances and attract funding which generate outcomes that benefit business growth and employment. 


About You:

We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:

  • A strong background in economic development at a local, regional and national level;
  • A proven ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Economic Development function;
  • A values based leadership approach, with a strong focus on building a culture of achievement and collaboration within their team;
  • Experience in developing and delivering annual strategies for economic and business development;
  • excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills, with the ability to constructively influence outcomes;
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management experience, research and project management expertise;
  • Knowledge of the various roles local government is highly desirable.

This position is classified at Level 8, with a starting salary of $110,312 + Super.
