We’re searching for a Maintenance Coordinator (Supervisor) to join our team and enable the ongoing reliability of our dual line operations in Braeside, VIC. This role plays a key role in coordination of onsite work and contractor utilisation, whilst also being a trade qualified maintenance engineer (min Cert IV). The role collaborates everyday with teams in Manufacturing (coated polymer fabrics), Research & Development, Procurement and Marketing in Australia and our global networks and oversees many of the facility maintenance requirements for the benefit of our whole team.

Reporting to the Site Manufacturing Manager, the successful candidate will be able to:

  • Actively show safety leadership qualities and accountability for safe ways of working
  • Liaise effectively with machine operators, warehouse storepersons and production leadership
  • Quickly understand and learn the operational requirements of all factory equipment, utilities and services
  • Ensure the maintenance workshop area is kept in a safe and clean condition, maintaining tools and equipment to optimum operation
  • Monitor factory equipment to identify reactive and proactive breakdown and repair, managing preventative measures where possible
  • Coordinate the schedule of work for day and afternoon shift maintenance
  • Work autonomously and carry out mechanical work as required, or with additional resource as required
  • Supervise outside contractors while they are on-site, ensuring safety protocols are understood
  • Procure supplies for maintenance of equipment and site facilities
  • Complete routine maintenance as required, e.g. clean, adjust, lubricate equipment as required
  • Contribute to the design and modification of equipment in collaboration with Site Manufacturing Manager, internal and external resources e.g. contractors
  • Install new machinery, support equipment and capital assets as required
  • Procure and manage the appropriate spares to minimise downtime in production

The successful candidate should have:

  • Proven understanding of safety principles and awareness of risk management
  • Trade Qualified (Dual Preferred) in relevant discipline – minimum Cert IV qualified
  • An understanding on the maintenance and reliability inputs to achieve ISO9001:2015 accreditation
  • Flexibility to work overtime and call outs (night shift) as required
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) concepts and practices
  • Understanding and ability to conduct effective quality problem solving and diagnostics
  • Self-motivation with the ability to multitask and work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
