Position summary

Human Resources Advisory has responsibility for transactional HR activities and is instrumental in ensuring we provide efficient and effective client focused HR services across Downer Utilities. This position supports the Water Services North line of business, based in Beenleigh, however flexibility within other Brisbane based offices is also offered.

This role works within a complex environment with multiple internal & external stakeholders, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes and bring people together are key.

This position will ensure that HR matters are dealt with, in accordance with The Downer Standard, prior to escalating to the HR Business Partner or specialists and will support strategic system and continuous improvement HR projects.


  • Tertiary Qualification in Business or Human Resources
  • Relevant experience in a busy and time sensitive Human Resources role (generalist or specialist)
  • Understanding of employment legislation, modern awards and agreements and the ability to provide sound advice
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and/or interest in implementing and refining systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to set work priorities to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail, adaptable and have a pro-active approach.
