PSCA, Level 4, $80,452 - $84,797 p.a. pro rata plus 10% Superannuation

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people's lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia's species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department's care.

Similar appointments may be made from this process in locations throughout Western Australia within a 12-month period to positions that may be permanent or contract, including contract appointments with the possibility of subsequent permanency.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Regional Parks Unit:

  • Coordinates and provides administrative support for the following: community advisory committees; volunteer programs; community liaison; and external funding opportunities.
  • Performs an executive officer role and administration function to community advisory committees.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria, including where possible the desirable criterion. These should be addressed in no more than five (5) pages in total.
  1. Demonstrated experience in communicating and liaising effectively with external stakeholders.
  2. Demonstrated experience in developing relationships/partnerships with external community groups, potential sponsors and special interest groups including traditional land owners, to build effective networks and promote community support and involvement in projects in regional parks.
  3. Experience and demonstrated competence in general administration support procedures including, attending and recording committee meeting discussions, and ensuring agenda items are actioned, with a preference for someone with an understanding of government protocols and procedures.
  4. Evidence of ability to work effectively and constructively independently and as part of a team.
  5. Evidence of an understanding of natural resource management and the associated environmental, social cultural and economic issues. (Desirable)
