We are currently seeking a Completions Engineer for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), in the South Eastern Program Alliance!

This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

About the role:

In this role you will be responsible for undertaking MTM’s & Alliance completions requirements, as well as supporting the design review process where required.

This role is a full time, permanent role which will see the successful candidate have the opportunity to be primarily based at our site locations in Lilydale or Cranbourne, with travel required to our Alliance head office in Surrey Hills where required.

As an MTM employee you will have access to free-travel along the network.

This role will require you to be available to work on weekend’s occasionally.

Please note that safe social distancing practices are being conducted on our site locations, to manage the number of personnel on site you may be required to work from home at times, this will be reviewed as restrictions ease.


The key responsibilities of a Completions Engineer will include but not be limited to;

• Manage the completions process for the Alliance which would include adhering to MTM’s required Works Readiness Gateways as well as other asset owner requirements (eg. Council, RTO, VicRoads, etc).
• Review of submissions (EACRs, images, Forms and Certificates) for completeness and quality prior to submission to infrastructure / upload.
• Manage the handover process at project completion ensuring that all the key stakeholders are involved and that project documentation is completed in accordance with procedures
• Work with the Alliance Quality Team to manage all MTM defects, red line process and as built drawing process.
• Manage all MTM training & familiarisation requirements for new infrastructure
• Conduct walkthroughs with various MTM stakeholders.
• Manage all aspects of allocated projects in conjunction with relevant stakeholders and contractors to progress projects to implementation and commissioning.
• Assist with the receipt of design information and drawings, including ensuring that a current drawing register is maintained and that the documentation is issued to all the relevant parties.

Desired qualifications, skills and experience:

• Engineering tertiary qualification
• Experience in a similar role with an emphasis Victorian Rail industry an advantage
• Sound experience in engineering principles of planning, design and scheduling
• Ability to assess functional specifications for compliance
• Ability to identify and analyse risks, and make corrective actions
• Demonstrated experience using a high level of accuracy and working to tight timescales
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
• Ability to follow occupational health, safety and environmental procedures in the rail industry
• Ability to manage, use and maintain administrative systems
