The Student Success Directorate (SSD) provides students with support services to promote student engagement in university life, opportunities for student leadership development and opportunities for students to develop graduate attributes making them career-ready professionals.

The Student Life Officer delivers Orientation and co-curricular programs for students. The position holder will work closely with key stakeholders to collaborate with, organise and promote student engagement programs, events and activities to enhance the student experience on each campus.

The Student Life Officer will offer a range of programs, events and activities that will encourage a sense of belonging to an inclusive and diverse community, engage the ACU community in its commitment to justice, equity and the common good.

More specifically the role entails:
Participate at a national level in the planning and promotion of the yearly Orientation Program and plan and deliver the local Orientation program by working closely with key stakeholders.
Develop positive and effective working relationships with campus partners, including students, to deliver successful orientation and student life programs within budget.
Demonstrate success leading the delivery of programs and events to enhance student experience. In collaboration the campus student associations and campus-based clubs and societies, assist in the planning and delivery of student events and activities.
Collaborate with the SES, Campus Ministry, OSS and Faculty to offer a coordinated program of events to enhance the student experience and help students engage with their peers and develop their graduate attributes.

You will need to have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in facilitating student programs in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and resources to achieve required outcomes and meet the specified deadlines.
Demonstrated capacity for interpersonal understanding including active listening in order to provide useful advice and negotiate constructive outcomes.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports.

Total remuneration valued to $95,101 - $102,196 pa, including salary component $80,362 - $86,357pa (Higher Education Worker Level 6), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
