Job Description


Accenture Interactive Design is growing a phenomenal team of designers, strategists, brand architects and product developers around the globe. Locally the strategic design team (formerly 2nd Road) is looking for strategic and creative thinkers, passionate about creating visionary futures with Executives and Boards, and bringing new ideas to the world.

    The role

    Design Consultants are driven to solve business problems that are strategic in nature. They help clarify intent, work through complex problems and create compelling project artifacts and narratives that drive project outcomes. They can articulate abstract ideas and create clarity within ambiguous situations. They are curious, empathetic and collaborative minds that are integral to our project teams. They are adept in managing client expectations through great communication and relationship management skills.

    Alongside their project work, a consultant will be expected to participate in proposal development and pitching. Finally, they are an active member of our community, continually contributing to the further development of the practice with a keen interest in the areas of strategy and innovation.

    What will you be doing and with whom?

    You will be a hands-on contributor to teams that include Senior Managers, Directors and clients, collaborating on projects to:

  • Be a thought partner in project design and delivery to senior members of the team

  • Understand client needs, including business strategies, market context and user research

  • Use strategic frameworks and methodologies as input into team and client discussions and activities

  • Build tools and activities that support and facilitate group interactions

  • Conduct and synthesise client interviews

  • Help design and deliver strategy workshops

  • Document project outcomes and produce client presentation material

  • Capture and synthesise conversations, workshops and customer research


  • What will you be responsible for?

    Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • create impactful content that aids the development, discussion or presentation of project work

  • design and deliver workshop activities to drive project outcomes

  • balance your time and contribution across multiple projects

  • support project teams as needed, which may include activities such as note taking during client or customer interviews and photographing client interactions during workshops


  • What knowledge and capabilities will you draw on?

    You will be well-suited for this position if you have:

  • proven consulting experience

  • strong client management skills

  • basic understanding of busines models, value propositions and operating models

  • strong outcomes focus, can sense when a project must pivot to achieve intent

  • aptitude to spot significance in ambiguous and complex situations

  • ability to work in an iterative working style, embracing critique as an essential part of the process

  • excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • You have an ability to ‘see the bigger picture’ and are interested in the broader role that design has to play in tackling complex problems in business and society

  • You are passionate about user-based design and have experience with related communication tools such as customer experience maps, stakeholder diagrams, experience blueprints etc.

  • You are interested, or have experience participating, in industry-related activities such as conferences, speaking engagements, publications or courses

  • You have experience with or exposure to user research, either to better understand user’s problems or to test prototypes


  • What qualifications and experiences will be relevant?

    You will be well-suited for this position if you have:

  • 2 years + consulting experience


  • Salary range for this role: $70,000 to $110,000
