About the opportunity

We’re currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join our forensic disability team located in Melbourne. As the newest member to our team reporting directly to our Disability Manager, you’ll be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members throughout the forensic disability programs on a daily basis, ensuring the team provides quality services and safeguards to our clients that promote opportunities for meaningful participation and active inclusion in society.

A day in the life as a Forensic Disability Team Leader with CareChoice, may see you supporting your team with:

  • Coaching, mentoring, guidance and support to identify risk increasing behaviours
  • Coordination of supports to complex client programs
  • Maintain and audit client records for compliance purposes
  • Crisis management and incident report follow up
  • Assess staff performance on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in on-call and recall duties as rostered

About you

As a positive role model with a ‘can do attitude’, you’ll have a high degree of initiative and strong desire to achieve outstanding results. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience supporting clients with complex needs in the community
  • Relevant qualifications in the disability and community services
  • A genuine desire to ensure that clients receive exceptional service
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and cultivate a strength-based approach
  • Knowledge of restrictive practices
  • Knowledge and experience writing person-centred plans
  • Excellent attention-to-detail and supervisory skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
