The Opportunity & Team

We are looking for an experienced DC Team Leader to join our Dairy and Drinks team for our Far North Qld Logistics network which will be based at our manufacturing site at Malanda.


The Malanda site produces a range of popular products for some of Australia’s most loved brands including:
  • White milk – Dairy Farmers
  • Iced Coffee – Dare
  • Flavoured Milk – Dairy Farmers Classic

In 2014, Dairy Farmers white milk was rebranded as Malanda Original Milk, helping boost community support for far north Queensland dairy farmers. As the only major milk processing facility in the region, the Malanda site plays an integral role in ensuring the long term sustainability of the local dairy industry.

You will be responsible for managing all Transport schedules, DC compliance for Safety and R&M, Management of handling the pool of crates and Pallets and first point for communication and relationship for the Franchise network serviced from Malanda.


Reporting to the DC & Depot Leader FNQ, you will be responsible for;
  • Compliance - Key customer contact point Malanda ensuring that Bega meet all compliance criteria for deliveries into and out of the Malanda for CFS customers including: Outbound service levels (DIFOT), Lead times, STO Compliance, Order profile compliance, Pick, pack & despatch criteria, Chep Pallet Management and general customer warehouse receiving requirements. Previous experience in SAP, RFID, Warehouse Management Systems and any Manufacturing Excellence Programs would be beneficial but not mandatory
  • Operations –Follow-up on missed/rejected and late deliveries into customer delivery point. Ensure the returns and credits process is also initiated in a timely & effective manner. Manage and report on DMA (Delivery Malfunction Advice) from our logistics providers. POD management.
  • People – Key relationship skills to engage the Franchise Network, Manufacturing leaders, DC leaders and key Service Providers.
  • Financial Management – Manage DC, R&M and transport costs in line with budgetary figures.
  • Reporting – Daily/Weekly reporting/presentation of order fulfilment (DIF) & outbound service levels (DIFOT) and D&D to Logistics Leader. Preparation & supply of various operationally based business reports to Logistics Leader, account teams & stakeholders including Daily /Weekly Service Level & KPI reports, root cause and corrective action initiatives.

Ideally you have strong business acumen coupled with FMCG manufacturing and distribution experience, as well as people leadership experience.
