Tyre Fitter / Mechanical Trade Assistant for a short-term contract at a Defence Base in the Darwin area.


About the Role:
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Tyre Fitter / Mechanical Trade Assistant for a short-term contract at a Defence Base in the Darwin area. To perform all trade assistant related tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant and equipment. Assist in maintenance and storeroom tasks as required.

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Assist in managing tools and equipment within the Supply Customer Account/s on the Commonwealth Mandated Information System and on Asset Registers
  • Conducting maintenance tasks within the applicable competencies, under the supervision of a tradesperson
  • Contributing to collaborative innovation by identifying continuous improvement initiatives
  • Operating plant and machinery as required and provided by the Commonwealth to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Performing additional work-related responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader, such as first aid attendant, HSE committee representative, unit fire team representative, and/or member of a business improvement team.
  • Operate plant and equipment where qualified and licensed.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Perform manual tasks associated with maintenance and construction as required, including safe working duties.
  • Undertake, as instructed by your Team Leader, other tasks which may be incidental & peripheral to your trade.
