  • $86k - $94k per annum + Super

About The Role

The Environmental Health Officer works in the Public Health team to administer and implement the legislative requirements contained within the Food Act, Public Health & Wellbeing Act, Environment Protection Act and Tobacco Act as delegated by Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct food safety assessments of registered food businesses.
  • Apply Acts, regulations and codes to relevant premises through inspections, sampling, advice and education.
  • Investigate and report complaints received and take necessary remedial action.
  • Issue notices and the required enforcement action to ensure compliance.

About You

You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, build and manage effective relationships and deal with difficult people. You have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with complaints, analyse issues and come up with solutions to create positive outcomes.

The Following Is Also Required
  • Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • Experience in local government is ideal but not required.

Please note the successful candidate must be willing to undergo a police records check and a Working with Children Check for the purpose of employment.
