Our Melbourne office has recently been awarded some very exciting and challenging projects across several construction sectors. As a result, we are inviting quality people to join our organisation.

We currently have an opening for an experienced Electrical BIM Modeller to join our growing team and office and play an active role in ensuring that we continue to provide a quality service. The role will require an individual who has at least 10 years’ of local experience in Electrical BIM Modelling within the Building Services field. The position includes a career pathway in numerous roles in both local, regional and international markets if desired.

The principal responsibility of the Electrical BIM Modeller is to produce BIM models for our team of building services consulting engineers, working within existing CAD / BIM standards and within ISO 9001 procedures.

The Electrical BIM Modeller will be required to work closely with our engineers and be responsible for setting up and producing engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordination of our service and final presentation of drawings and input into technical BIM processes (e.g. standard operating procedures, templates, developing new workflows, research & development, etc). New ideas and career development are encouraged.

The applicant shall:

  • Be an experienced REVIT user with a good background in producing building services engineering CAD drawings, particularly in the electrical engineering discipline.
  • Be experienced in using Revit MEP to produce building services engineering 3D models. Experience with the following:
    • Good understanding of the Project Browser
    • Good understanding and experience using worksets
    • Good understanding and experience applying correct systems to the different services.
    • Good understanding of view templates
    • Experience setting up new views and sheets
    • Basic Family Creation
  • Possess basic knowledge and experience with the viewing commands with Navisworks.
  • Understand all three disciplines and how they work together. Has an interest in developing their design knowledge of MEP systems and started to progress this.
  • Have the ability to read and understand engineering mark-up drawings.
  • Possess attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to identify cross-discipline coordination issues.
  • Be experienced in working with a building services consultant and /or with a sub-contractor.
  • Have strong organisational skills, able to manage own workload and engineers expectations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Be computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Be eligible to work permanently in Australia.
