Full Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in facilitating the achievement of the Department of Education and Training's priorities, aims, and objectives through the provision of support services to local Regional staff, wider departmental stakeholders, external community stakeholders and the general public.
The role reports to the Administration Manager, and is paramount in maintaining the Department's existing and developing relationships and is one of the key supporting resources in local regional offices. The role of Reception and Administrative Support is to be first and foremost a welcoming presence for all visitors, internal and external, ensuring that the processing of all information received daily is completed timely and accurately in accordance with the current Department policies and procedures. In addition, the role also requires a motivated, well-organised incumbent who can prioritise their workload based on demand, escalate in a timely professional manner if and as required and have the ability to recognise when assistance needs to be sought.
It is recognised that the role is critical to the effective operations of the Department and by their very nature, these roles involve periods of sustained independent work, as well as frequent and varied contact with all members of the Department and community. The role demands flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and supportive way with all other members of the Administration team, performing many and varied tasks which will involve discretion, confidentiality and initiative.
