Description
All Saint’s College, Maitland is seeking a temporary part-time (15 hours/week) School Officer - Receptionist to join the school community commencing Monday 12 July 2021.

All Saints’ College is a coeducational year 7-12 Catholic School which is part of the Catholic Schools Office, Maitland Newcastle Diocese. Approximately 1500 students and 200 staff spread across 2 campuses, we are the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic Schools in the state. St Peter’s Campus caters for our year 7-10 students, and St Mary’s Campus caters for our senior students in years 11 and 12.

Position Requirements
In this position you will work under the supervision of the Office Manager to deliver high quality customer service as the first point of contact for visitors to the school. Position requirements include but are not limited to:



  • responding professionally to and directing incoming calls


  • greeting, directing and accounting for visitors to the school



  • managing school mail and deliveries


  • typing of documents as directed by the Office Manager


  • ensuring the cleanliness of the reception area and ensuring it is a welcoming space


  • preparation of office memos as required


  • general office administration including printing, maintaining records, typing and preparation of documents

    Essential Criteria
  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and a commitment to actively support the Catholic ethos and culture of the school


  • Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;


  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, with good spelling and grammatical skills


  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines


  • Demonstrated experience using initiative and self-motivation in the workplace;


  • Demonstrated ability in accurately and proficiently performing a wide range of administration tasks.


  • Intermediate experience and ability to work with various databases, Microsoft office programs and excel;


  • Demonstrated capacity to organise, prioritise and multi task to meet various deadlines;


  • An understanding of, and the ability to, maintain a high level of confidentiality


  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment;


  • Flexibility in managing tasks


  • Capacity to initiate strategies for improvement


  • Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work


  • The applicant must provide evidence of the following:

  • Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number

  • Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience working in a similar role


  • Provide First Aid Certificate

    Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
