About the branch:
The Park Planning and Policy Directorate provides strategic and applied guidance on the planning and policy for the management of the Parks Victoria estate. The Directorate is within the Commercial, Planning and Recovery Division. The Directorate brings together strategy, planning, policy, programming, monitoring and evaluation for Park Victoria with a focus on delivery of plans, standards and advice.

About the role and your responsibilities:
As the Business Coordinator, you will be responsible for the support and coordination of business and administration functions for the Park Planning and Policy Directorate. You role will work closely with other key internal partners in regions and corporate planning, reporting and strategy teams. Key functions include support for the development and monitoring of the Directorate's Annual Plan and its implementation. You will coordinate reporting for the Directorate to the Executive Management Team and Parks Victoria Board and sub-committees. The Directorate has an oversight role of strategic park planning, place-based planning and park management policy and the position will support the compilation and analysis of strategic and operational aspects of the program.
You will provide advice to staff in the directorate on organisational procedures for procurement and the project management framework. You will assist in the development of business and annual planning, project proposals, and coordinate the reporting and acquittal of funded initiatives being delivered by the Directorate. An applied knowledge of the Directorate's planning and policy programs will support the delivery of these functions.
You will provide a high level of support to the Directorate by undertaking a wide range of administrative and organisational duties, which will include providing support to the Director specifically.

To be successful for this role you will need:
  • Tertiary qualification in business or environmental management (desirable) and/or equivalent experience in similar fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in provision of expert and technical advice and support for organisational planning and performance.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in project and budget management.
  • A Current Employee Working with Children Check is required.
