Full Job Description
Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with TRONOX is looking for a driven and motivation Surface Operations Trainee who is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Resource Processing which will be delivered over a 24 month period.

Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. At our three operations in Western Australia, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products which are exported to international markets. Our sites based in Kwinana, Chandala and Cooljarloo are all within 2 hours drive of Perth and form part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, with a global customer base.

The Role

Located in Cooljarloo, TRONOX's Cooljarloo Mine Site that mine the heavy mineral concentrates using dredging techniques. The trainee will assist the Production Engineer with metallurgical checks and investigations as well as carry out planned operational maintenance tasks.

Skills and Experience

To be successful, you will meet the following criteria:
  • Completion of Secondary Schooling (Minimum)
  • Ability to work a rostered 9/day fortnight - 5 day on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off (8.444 hours/day)
  • Have a basic mechanical understanding
  • A current WA driver's licence and own transport
  • Strong commitment to safety and driven work ethic
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug & alcohol screening tests.
  • Physically fit, prepared to work in physically demanding work place
  • Competent Swimmer and Marine Craft exposure (Desirable)
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Software
  • Exposure to Distributed Control Systems (DCS) (Desirable)
  • Mobile plant operator skills eg: Forklift, Loaders (Desirable)
Please note, this position is residential/local, however employees are also offered accommodation at the newly constructed mine's camp which is approximately 10kms south of the Mine
